Execution
- XTNS geometry for combined roughing/finishing with 9° angled, fibre-reinforced cutting edge and 24° positive rake angle provide outstanding chip control in long-chipping materials. Secondary cutting edges have 16° positive rake angle for excellent profile turning with clean surfaces. While this indexable grooving insert has been designed for universal use, it provides an outstanding service life when used for grooving stainless steel, e.g. 1.4404 of type KM TILOX. This is also the case when parting hexagonal 1.4571 material with diameter 38. An optimum service life of 678 hours was thus achieved, exceeding the previous record mark of 409 hours with identical cutting values. (Vc: 60 m/min; f: 0.05 mm/rev)
