Adhesive tape for masking objects or surfaces during powder coating and electrostatic painting processes. Our thickest tape in the 8900 series, 3M (TM) Polyester Tape 8905 is a heavy-duty polyester tape that is ideal for masking at high temperatures. The backing is tear resistant and translucent blue for easy positioning. Coated with a silicone adhesive, this tape is excellent for masking for powder coating to create sharp color lines. It removes cleanly and in one piece from most surfaces and prevents slipping and breaking. With good chemical resistance, this tape works effectively in chemical processes and demanding working conditions, such as anodizing. The pressure sensitive silicone adhesive works over a wide temperature range from 50°C to 204°C.
