ATORN RockTec PRO milling tools

The highly specialized ATORN RockTec PRO milling cutters are suitable for all conceivable milling applications. The high-performance tools are ideal for hard machining up to 65 HRC.

The challenge: Time pressure, high costs and time-consuming rework

Even in tool and mould making, time and cost pressures are constantly increasing.

This means that shorter process times and more efficient machining methods are required. Currently, the standard for the manufacture of tool inserts is:

  1. Soft pre-milling
  2. Hard finishing

The reworking of already hardened materials in production is always a current topic too - forgotten or unforeseen recesses and surfaces often have to be reworked. How can this production process be optimised? Very simply: with hard milling.

The solution: Reduce costs and increase quality with hard milling

Hard milling is the machining of hardened materials with a hardness of 52 to 65 HRC. This process is particularly attractive due to its high cost and time savings as well as special HSC milling strategies, high surface quality and the elimination of thermal distortion. In addition, there is no need for work steps such as multiple clamping and time-consuming polishing. This leads to enormous savings in your production!

The offer: Our product assortment for all requirements

HAHN+KOLB offers innovative tool technology that meets the high requirements of hard milling. We have put together a complete ATORN range with end mills, ball nose end mills and torus milling cutters from 0.1 to 20 mm in diameter for all machining applications. The particularly wide and extensive assortment is designed for extremely long service life and leaves nothing to be desired, even in terms of cutting materials and geometry. The different geometries are matched perfectly to the different milling operations, and the carbide used is characterised by high levels of hardness and extreme durability.

The innovation: Best performance with new coatings

Hard milling tools from ATORN offer you the best conditions for efficient hard machining: With their special type of edge treatment and new coatings, our tools ensure the highest degree of precision, optimum service life and the perfect level of performance when working with hard materials. Quality and performance make the ATORN range a reliable solution in all areas of tool and mould making.
