The Scotch-Brite (TM) Metal Finishing Compact Discs MF-WL are highly conformable aluminum oxide wheels wound on a core to run smoothly and achieve professional finishing results. Our compact wheels are available in CRS and MED fineness grades and in diameters from 152.4 mm to 406 mm and widths of 12.7 mm and more. Our Scotch-Brite (TM) grinding wheel for metal surfaces blends over small defects and achieves a decorative finish on many softer metals. Our wheels are also suitable for effective blending of 3 or 4 grit mill finishes on stainless steel and produce brushed or matt finish results on cutlery, trim, architectural hardware and plumbing fixtures, for example. These discs are typically used on stationary machines and are available in CRS and MED grit sizes and in diameters from 152.4 mm to 406.4 mm and widths of 12.7 mm and more. They are highly adaptable and are made of aluminum oxide, a tough, synthetic mineral that abrades quickly and leaves a perfect surface finish. Aluminum oxide is often used for sanding and finishing and is characterized by low heat generation. The controlled abrasive prevents under-sanding or gouging and can be used on a wide range of surfaces including wood, metal and ferrous alloys. Scotch-Brite industrial abrasives are unique products for surface finishing. The abrasives are bonded into nylon fleece fibers or synthetic fibers. The combination of abrasives and fibers creates an abrasive system that provides consistent results over the life of the product. The open non-woven structure enables cool sanding and is dust-repellent so that the fibers retain their high removal rate because they do not clog.
